Speaking
Since 2006 I’ve given over 125 talks, all over the world, about JavaScript, browser technologies, jQuery, art history, computer vision, and many other topics. From 2007 to 2011 I gave a large number of talks as part of my Developer Evangelist position at Mozilla and related to my involvement with the jQuery project. These days I tend to give very few talks and instead spend more time coding on side projects and building applications at Khan Academy.
Availability
I am currently open to limited speaking engagements in the New York City area. I’m no longer taking on any other speaking engagements (private or otherwise). Additionally:
- I’m only interested in speaking at conferences that have an enforced Code of Conduct in place, such as the one that Pycon or JSConf uses.
- Additionally I only wish to speak at conferences that’ve committed to improving diversity in both their speaker line-up and attendance. More information on fixing this problem can be found here and here.
